ilYoung 2022 cast revealed

In December’s ilDance Newsletter, we announced the cast of ilYoung 2022!

This year, we welcome Selina Koch, Hadar Reshef, Maja Dahlbäck, Isabella Khanamidi and Wilma Eriksson to the ilYoung company, while we welcome back Emilia Fridholm, Malva Sanner and Jennifer Wállen.

The company will commence the creation processes in July, when they will work with choreographers and ilDance’s directors Israel Aloni and Lee Brummer on two new works which will tour across Sweden in August and September 2022.

"I always look forward to ilYoung, knowing that it’s a process where everyone both gives and gains a lot. I’m extremely excited to welcome the 2022 company and to make a work with this group. Indulging in a new process, new inspirations, new constellations… there is a lot to look forward to. I’m already inspired by the passion, dedication and creativity that these young artists have, which leaks out of their pores, and can’t wait to get going!

"As well as the meeting with this wonderful cast, through the ilYoung tour and performances, we get to meet many other young artists across Sweden and share thoughts and conversations about process, practice, future and more. It’s a really special time," says Lee Brummer.

Documentary showing on 4 January

Following its successful run of screenings both online and at a series of COMPASS activities, Notice, Claim, Repurpose, will be available online again exclusively on Tuesday 4 January 2022.

The documentary by Caroline Hägg, produced by ilDance, captures behind-the-scenes footage and interviews during the creative process of Self Contained, the production which was created and toured by ilYoung 2021.

In the documentary, you will hear from the cast, as well as ilDance directors Lee Brummer and Israel Aloni as they reflect on the process and the state of contemporary dance for young and emerging artists in Sweden.
