Dancing Histor(y)ies: Under the Gemlike Eye of Venus – Upcoming Performance in Sardinia

Back in April and May, ilDance artists traveled to Sardinia to experience local traditions and engage with artists and communities across the region. This experience served as a foundation for learning more about Sardinian culture and exploring its layered histories. Now in August, performing artists Victor Persson, Elias Khanamidi and Jennifer Wallen return to perform “Under the Gemlike Eye of Venus”, at the Nora Archaeological Park on August 8.

The performance reflects on how stories and histories, both distant and near, gain or lose meaning, depending on the contexts in which they are reiterated. Incorporating poems by Grazia Deledda and Giangavino VascoIn, “Under The Gemlike Eye of Venus” explores senses and sensations of time and how it can be pulled, morphed and transformed through relations and relationships.

Dancing Histor(y)ies is co-funded by the European Union.
