Dancing Histor(y)ies: Final Performances of ilDance for this Year´s Festivals

In May ilDance continued thier creative residency in Gothenburg. During the residency, artists met the students of Balettakademein Gothenburg in a workshop which fostered practice sharing and meaningful artistic exchange.

This month, the final performances for this year´s Dancing Histor(y)ies festivals will take place. Artists will have the opportunity to share their experiences from this rich adventure, with the audiences and communities in Gothenburg.

During Göteborgs Kulturkalas, ilDance is inviting the audience to a series of exciting events leading up to the finale. On August 29, the artists will have a closed workshop in collaboration with Balettakademien, followed by Gaga classes on August 30, led by Lee Brummer. Also on the same day we will present two performances of  “A Moment of Endlessness” by Israel Aloni and the Swedish cast of Dancing Histor(y)ies for 2025, at Gathenhielmska Huset.

The performances reflect on how stories and histories, both distant and near, gain or lose meaning, depending on the contexts in which they are reiterated. Incorporating text by Hayim Nahman Bialik and Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), “A Moment Of Endlessness” explores senses and sensations of time and how it can be pulled, morphed and transformed through relations and relationships.

Admission is free and open to everyone, requiring registration to attend. Registration tickets for the performances are available from August 15 and for Gaga classes from August 28 at www.ildance.se/tickets.

The events are presented in collaboration with Göteborgs Kulturkalas.

Dancing Histor(y)ies is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
