Are you aged between 15 and 25 and have a burning passion for contemporary dance? We are here for you!

Compass is an initiative from ilDance which aims to ignite change in the current Swedish contemporary dance ecosystem and society and become a home for young and emerging (YEA) contemporary dance artists across Sweden.

The project was initiated by ilDance 2021, with the support from Postkodstiftelsen for its first two years of operation, to offer a much-needed mechanism and infrastructure that drives the production and presentation of contemporary dance with and by young dance artists throughout Sweden.

ilDance will work with a wide range of organisations, stakeholders and individuals throughout Sweden to create stimulating and dynamic environments where young dance artists can be supported.

Through COMPASS, ilDance is thrilled to be in a position in which we can share and support other artists at the beginning of their professional journey and process - bringing our knowledge and experience together with yours to create something new in an exciting community.

Activities within COMPASS include weekend workshops and open classes, performances, audition opportunities for the junior dance company ilYoung and skills development workshops such as application writing, company structures for freelancers and physical workshops.

All activities within the five hubs across Sweden will be steered by the needs of young and emerging artists just like you.
