Gaga & Movement Research Intensive 8-10 August, Stockholm
The Stockholm Gaga & movement intensive - Summer 2025 is led by Kari Vig Petersen, Smadar Goshen and Lee Brummer.
This workshop invites you into a rich, multi-faceted movement experience combining daily Gaga/people classes with movement research sessions led by three teachers—each bringing their own unique background, expertise, and artistic voice.
Daily Gaga/people classes, taught by all three facilitators, offering diverse interpretations and approaches to the Gaga movement language. These classes focus on deepening sensory awareness, expanding physical possibilities, and connecting to pleasure, texture, and effort in movement. Each teacher’s way into Gaga will give you a new perspective and help you discover different pathways into your dancing body.
In addition to Gaga, the workshop includes movement research sessions drawing from our collective knowledge beyond the Gaga framework. This will incorporate practices such as Fascial Flow, Gyrotonics, Pilates, and choreographic exploration. Using improvisation, tasking, and guided inquiry, these sessions support creative discovery and embodied research.
There will also be space throughout the workshop for dialogue, reflection, and Q&A, supporting a more integrated and conscious learning process.
This workshop welcomes everyone aged 16 and over—no prior experience in dance or Gaga is required. Just bring your curiosity, openness, and willingness to move.

Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and imagination. The classes offer a workout that investigates form, speed, and effort while traversing additional spectrums such as those between soft and thick textures, delicacy and explosive power, and understatement and exaggeration. Participants awaken numb areas, increase their awareness of habits, and improve their efficiency of movement inside multilayered tasks, and they are encouraged to connect to pleasure inside moments of effort. The movement research of Gaga is in a continual process of evolution, and the classes vary and develop accordingly.
Gaga/people classes are 60 mins long
Classes are open to participants from the age of 16. No previous dance or movement experience is necessary.
