OPEN CALL: Work in progress sharing and artist talk

Come share your work-in-progress at the third edition of ilDance Event on 22 November 2026 15:00-21:00 at CCAP in Stockholm. With the ilDance Events, we seek to create a space where our community can meet, connect, and share through different experiences with dance.

Framework of this engagement
We are looking for one work-in-progress, at any stage of the process, with multidisciplinary approach and distinct relation with/to the huWOman* body. We are particularly interested in work across materials and mediums with visual, plastic, video, digital, non-human, more-than-human, post-human, trans dimensions.

The work-in-progress sharing will take place in the small studio at CCAP, a black box of 4X4 meter with no windows (complete darkness possible). The work-in-progress should require simple technical setup and can be presented within a set timeframe (approx 20 min) or set up as a durational installation/exhibition which spectators/audience can visit at different moments throughout the Event.

The artist will also be invited to partake in an artist talk, moderated by Israel Aloni. The talk will explore a particular concept (depending on the shared work) through which the artist and spectators/audience will also reflect on the particular work.

*huWOman is a term coined by Israel Aloni to challenge the passive acceptance of “human” as an inherently inclusive category, given that this unexamined acceptance often carves discrimination into our societies. HuWOman serves as a constant reminder of who is not automatically protected by the “human” category.

Who are we calling?
We are calling Stockholm-based artists with curiosities about multidisciplinary approach, whether simple or complex, to performative and performance art. Artists of all biographies, life experiences, cultural and ethnic background, identities, affiliations, abilities and ages (18 and up) are encouraged to respond to this call.

ilDance is built on the ethical disposition that all humans/huWOmans are equal and should be treated as such. We do not tolerate any discrimination or bigotry on the basis of a person’s history, biology, faith or any other characteristics.

Terms and conditions
ilDance offers  an honorarium of 2000 SEK + moms, or 2000 SEK gross salary, for the selected work. This amount is fixed regardless of the number of participants, so please take this into account  when  applying.

ilDance takes care of all communication materials and dissemination for the event, as well as simple production and logistics in coordination with the artists. ilDance offers 2 free passes for the entire ilDance Event for all participating artists, regardless of the number of participants (each artist may bring +1).

Optional, only if desired by the artist, accompaniment with Israel Aloni (up to 2 advice/reflection/brainstorming sessions, scheduled individually with the artist until the end of 2026).

Selection process
All submissions will be reviewed carefully by Artistic Director, Israel Aloni, in dialogue with communication manager, Ozlem Bekiroglou Aldogan, and production assistant, Arunas Giambino Mozuraitis. We will consider the compatibility with the format, how presenting the work-in-progress at this point can contribute to your process, multidisciplinarity and relation with/to the huWOman body.
