Lee Brummer Creation: Run Towards the Things That Break Your Heart

In March 2026, Lee Brummer premiered a new work in Stavanger, Norway, created during a three-week intensive working period with the final-year students at the University of Stavanger.

Run Towards the Things That Break Your Heart explores a space where tension and urgency meet delicacy, asking what truly compels us forward. While rooted in themes of high stakes and risk, the work shifts focus toward the quiet gravity of what we cannot ignore, those emotional fault lines that live not only within us, but between us, in the fragile, shared spaces we inhabit alongside others.

Through a rigorous and collaborative process, the performers engaged deeply with these questions, bringing to life a work that resonates with both vulnerability and resolve. The work premiered on the 13th March 2026, followed by two additional performances.
