iCoDaCo Digital Platform Prototype Development / iCoDaCo Prototyputveckling av Digital Plattform

Τhe world’s first open-access digital platform prototype for contemporary dance practices, created by artists to artists, is being developed under the leadership of ilDance (Sweden), in partnership with Creativity Lab (Latvia) and Circe Platform (Georgia). 

We are developing the prototype of a pioneer open-access digital platform for contemporary dance practices, created by artists to artists. This is a collaborative process amongst  ilDance (Sweden), Creativity Lab (Latvia) and Circe Platform (Georgia) as well as other partners in the pan-European geographic region.

This open-source digital platform will feature multimedia content - including video, text, image and sound - created by individual artists and collectives in relation to research, creation, development and presentation of contemporary dance within the realities of the 21st century. 

As both an informative and interactive resource, the platform aims to strengthen digital collaboration in the arts & culture ecosystem. By developing a digital platform prototype for transnational co-creation, knowledge-sharing, and artistic exchange, we aim to offer an opportunity to develop practices which maintain contemporary performing arts in the  physical realm while benefiting from existing digital tools and technologies.  

This initiative also seeks to address historical gaps in regard to access to knowledge and opportunities as well as the access to digital transformation across Baltic and Eastern regions. By doing so we hope to foster inclusive, sustainable and cross-border artistic collaborations. 

This project builds on and complements International Contemporary Dance Collective (iCoDaCo) — an ongoing Creative Europe-funded initiative focused on collective authorship, artistic mobility, co-creation models, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The development of the digital platform prototype is funded by the Swedish Institute.

Världens första öppna prototyp av digitala plattformar för samtida danspraktiker, skapad av konstnärer för konstnärer, utvecklas under ledning av ilDance (Sverige) i partnerskap med Creativity Lab (Lettland) och Circe Platform (Georgien).

Vi utvecklar prototypen till en banbrytande, öppen digital plattform för samtida danspraktiker – skapad av konstnärer för konstnärer. Detta är en samarbetsprocess mellan ilDance (Sverige), Creativity Lab (Lettland) och Circe Platform (Georgien) samt andra partners i den paneuropeiska regionen.

Denna open source-baserade, digitala plattform kommer att innehålla multimediamaterial – inklusive video, text, bild och ljud – skapat av enskilda konstnärer och kollektiv i relation till forskning, skapande, utveckling och presentation av samtida dans i 2000-talets kontext.

Som både en informativ och interaktiv resurs syftar plattformen till att stärka digitalt samarbete inom konst- och kultursektorn. Genom att utveckla en digital prototyp för transnationellt samskapande, kunskapsdelning och konstnärligt utbyte vill vi möjliggöra utvecklingen av praktiker som bevarar den samtida scenkonstens fysiska dimension och samtidigt gynnas av befintliga digitala verktyg och teknologier.

Initiativet syftar också till att bemöta historiska klyftor när det gäller tillgång till kunskap och möjligheter, liksom tillgången till digital omvandling i de baltiska och östra regionerna. Genom detta hoppas vi främja inkluderande, hållbara och gränsöverskridande konstnärliga samarbeten.

Projektet bygger vidare på och kompletterar International Contemporary Dance Collective (iCoDaCo) – ett pågående initiativ finansierat av Creative Europe som fokuserar på kollektivt skapande, konstnärlig rörlighet, medskapande modeller och tvärdisciplinärt samarbete.
