Workshop with Lee Brummer
Lee Brummer will lead a workshop in Stockholm on Wednesday, 22 April 2026 at 19:00 - 22:00 at MDT - Moderna Dansteatern (through their collaboration with Danscentrum Stockholm).
In this workshop for dance artists, Lee will share elements from her artistic practice. Drawing from Gaga movement language, of which she is a certified teacher, as well as repertoire from previous works, the workshop will focus on exploring movement qualities, expanding physical awareness, and developing the ability to make clear and responsive choices in movement.
Participants will be guided through a dynamic physical practice that encourages curiosity, sensory awareness, and connection between intention and action. The workshop invites dancers to deepen their movement vocabulary while engaging with tools that support both technical and creative development.
Content of the Workshop
The workshop will begin with a warm-up based on tools from Gaga movement language. This practice uses imagery, sensation, and specific information to invite participants to search for and open new pathways in the body. It encourages dancers to move beyond familiar limits and patterns, increasing availability for new movement possibilities. In this workshop the warm-up will focus on developing skills specifically relevant for dancers.
Following the warm-up, participants will work with tasks and repertoire from Lee’s choreographic work. Through these materials, dancers will continue exploring and developing the tools, movement qualities, and information introduced earlier in the session, applying them to specific tasks and compositional frameworks and form.
