Robin Jonsson

Robin Jonsson is a multidisciplinary artist exploring intimacy, desire and connection beyond the human body. Working with VR, performance and robotics, he creates environments where people encounter each other — and non-human agents — in unexpected ways.

His work examines how intimacy can emerge without physical touch, and how we project emotion and desire onto avatars and machines. In Metaklubb, a virtual nightclub, participants danced, flirted and made out as avatars. In other projects, he has staged intimate encounters between audiences, performers and humanoid robots, challenging ideas of consent, presence and emotional attachment.

His practice asks what it means to be close to someone — or something — in a time where bodies, identities and relationships are increasingly mediated.
