A Moment of Endlessness emerged from a research process at archaeological sites in Serbia, Spain, Italy, and Greece where choreographer Israel Aloni observed how stories attached to places do more than revive the past: they blur the boundaries between different temporalities, bringing past and present into dialogue.
The work reflects on time as both concept and lived experience, exploring how stories gain meaning through the contexts in which they are told and retold. Texts by Hayim Nahman Bialik and Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) accompany the audience on a journey through moments, images, and sensations that move between the personal and the collective, the intimate and the universal.
A Moment of Endlessness was initially performed within the Dancing Histor(y)ies project, a European collaboration exploring the encounters between contemporary dance and archaeological heritage sites.
